Episode 59. John Connor vs Blade

Narrator: Tonight's episode will be dealing with two heroes of their own times. John Connor, a normal human civilian that took it to the next step in the war against the machines. It was him that personally helped insure freedom for the human race; versus; Blade, the vampire hunter who wields and uses an impressive array of assorted weapons and tactics. Being a vampire himself with the ability to walk in the daytime gives him a truly unique perceptive.
WHO.........IS.........DEADLIEST!?

Here in our fight club we have the absolute best of weapons experts, trauma doctors and computer science experts. Our own unique team will disect each warrior piece by bloody piece to see which one has the true guts to win a the ultimate showdown, a battle to the death.

Gathering the data and helping keep the experts in check is our own resident weapons expert, ex Elite, Phoenix Drake.

Phoenix: Today we deal with one of the absolutely best battles to ever come through this series. John Connor is the leader of the human revolution and has battled viscious machines hell bent and destroying what was left of humanity. And then you have Blade, a vampire with the ability to walk in the day and an intense hatred for his own kind. He uses an impressive array of weapons and combat skills to best all takers. This will certainly be one of the premier fights this season.

Narrator: To evaluate injuries and add the necessary second opinion when it comes to how effective each weapon is is our own medical expert, Nissan Hendricks.

Nissan: I've taken a glance at the weapons and I have to say I am rather curious as to how these weapons are going to stack up against each other. Personally I think Blade is going to win as he is a vampire and there are certain pros that come along with that particular aspect, like enhanced reflexes and abilities for one.

Narrator: And finally last, but certainly not least, we have our computer science expert, Ivana Janssen. This lovely anthro collie is going to take every piece of information gathered on both warriors and input it into a computer simulation run by Slytherine Studios in an attempt to find out who would win the ultimate duel to the death.

Ivana: Today we test 2 heroes trying to save humanity from potential extinction. More so with John Connor then with Blade as there are far fewer humans in his time/realm. As Nissan said he was curious, I can relate with that as I am also equally curious on who could indeed win such a match.

Narrator: Fighting for our warriors is a crack team of experts and historians who have extensive knowledge on the warriors in question and can also mimic their fighting styles to a certain degree. Fighting for John Connor is resistance member, Andrea Reynolds.

Andrea: Look, I know a lot of people may think that this Blade is hot stuff and maybe he is. But John Connor has battled machines that could kill most vampires with relative ease. In fact, almost anything that is biological seems to be a target of their sensors and is warranted for execution.

Narrator: Also fighting for Connor is another resistance member and the actual father of Connor himself, Kyle Reese.

Kyle: Father? What?

Phoenix: Just give us some insight.

Kyle: Right.....*clears throat*. Connor is among one of the best soldiers we have in the resistance for a reason, and that is because he doesn't take impossible risks too often. Sometimes they are kind of necessary, but he is a very cautious and calculated individual who looks over every conceivable notion of a battle plan before setting it into motion.

Narrator: Fighting for Blade is a former familiar and soldier, Nate Hicks.

Nate: I've battled against Blade a few times before and am one of the lucky few to actually survive an encounter with him. Most vampires and most familiars do not, but there are always exceptions to this as I am obviously one. It was surviving this battle that made me realize I'd rather not become a vampire much less be killed by one that completely despises his own kind.

Narrator: Also fighting for Blade is a police officer who also happens to be an avid expert when it comes to vampires and their chosen forms of combat, his name, Officer Horatio Jenkins.

Horatio: I've never really met or seen this Blade, but I will admit that I know quite a bit about him. His abilities to sniff out familiars and track down vampires is astounding. He is a vampire himself, born of an infected pregnant woman on the eve of her giving birth. He was born with all strengths and none of the weaknesses except for the thirst which he needs to constantly keep in check.

Narrator: Both teams are quite confident, but as it is so often said, confidence only goes so far. That is why each warrior has brought their own impressive array of weapons for use in combat. John Connor brings with him the....

Fire Axe
HK23 Pistol
HK416
M4A1 Carbine M26
M203 Grenade Launcher.

Blade fights back with his....

Katana
Modifed USP Match
Modified MAC 11
Custom Shotgun
and the PSG-1.

We start this match off with the close combat weapons.

Kyle: This here is a Fire Axe and before the war it was more commonly used to break down doors to help evacuate people out of a burning building. Nowadays it is used as best as it can be against machines.

Nate: This here is the Japanese Katana and is the preferred weapon of Blade. He uses it with deadly skill and precision and has no qualms about using it to vaporize a vampire(as they turn to ash immediately after getting a dose of the silver blade) or putting it to good use by slashed apart familiars(humans) with it.

Twirling the Katana, Nate looks across the room at the gel torso before him. Getting the signal, he races up to it and runs it through with the sharp blade. Ripping the sword out, he lops off a limb before running the sword through the neck and then lopping off the head with a sideways pull and slash.

Nissan: Very grim and effective. I have always had a kind of a fascination with Japanese swords as they always seem to be so well made and are always used with an intense accuracy and precision that is not regularly seen elsewhere.

Phoenix: You've got a point as each move was a simple execution designed to inflict massive damage and disable/eliminate the enemy as quickly as possible.

Kyle spins the Fire Axe in his hand and is given the signal. Rushing up, he drives the axe blade deep into the torso's chest before planting the axe firmly into the skull. Ripping it out, he lops off an arm and then the other before driving the axe blade into the torso and ripping it out, forcing the torso to plop forward onto the ground with a splat.

Phoenix: Gotta love the axes as they always make such short work of anything they are used on. This is no exception as he literally just cut this guy apart. You can obviously tell every single hit would be a fatality, but we have to look at it this way, how mortal is Blade?

Nate: Well, despite all his superhuman abilities and reflexes, a well placed shot or hit with any weapon could easily end his life. But, he is often hard to hit much less sneak up on, so I am curious as to how a single man could do anything more then be a nuisance at best.

Phoenix: Well, your statement does have some validity, but it also answers the question. The axe /can/ kill Blade if placed in the right spot, however it is more clumsy then the Katana and less fluid. Plus, this is a wooden handle and a metal sword can easily cut the head of the axe off leaving you with only a wooden stick.

Nissan: Well, it appears the Katana gets the Edge.

Phoenix: Edge, Katana.

Narrator: Blade gets the Edge with his Katana.

Team Connor is not bested yet and so they introduce the next weapon in their lineup, the HK23 Pistol.

Andrea: This is the HK23, it is a 45 caliber pistol that can hold 12 rounds(13 with one in the chamber) and is John's sidearm of choice. The 45 caliber rounds can rip straight through a terminator chassis if fired in the right spot.

Horatio: This is Blade's USP Match and it has been modified to better deal with vampires. It holds 12 rounds as this particular model fires the .357 caliber bullets with an obvious thirteenth in the chamber.

Since both weapons share a lot of the same qualites, Phoenix will test them both out and give his review on how they handle. Looking at two sets of targets, he loads a single clip into each pistol before placing a round in the chamber. Phoenix is ambidextrous through self teaching so he could use any hand to accurately fire a weapon. In his right hand is the Custom USP Match and in his left is the HK23. Cracking his neck, he picks both pistols up and counting down from three to zero, he opens fire. The four gel torsos are shredded and ripped apart as the high velocity high caliber rounds hit and penetrate the human analogs. Finishing up, he lays both empty pistols on the table in front of him and approaches the experts.

Phoenix: Okay, pros.....both handled very well and both are very accurate. Some cons I noticed, the modifications to the USP Match made the recoil a bit harder to control. Although that doesn't prove too much of a problem to a half dragon hybrid like myself or a vampire like Blade, but that isn't the point. The point is the weapons and how they perform. The modifications to the USP Match do make it effective for killing vampires as well as anyone else that may piss you off, but they throw off the balance and can make it a challenge to fire. The HK was smooth and had no conceivable flaws and another factor to add in, the HK is a 45 caliber while this USP is only a .357 caliber. Their 45 caliber variant uses an 8 round clip giving you a max of 9 rounds altogether.

Nissan: Well Phoenix, you killed them both......maybe you should test the weapons from now on as you do give better insight when firing them and you do make more of a mess which I'm not so sure I approve of.

Phoenix: If I did all the tests, these guys wouldn't get to have fun.

Nissan: Well, I hate to state the obvious, but the HK23 did more damage because of the higher caliber and thanks to our expert shootist here, most of the rounds hit the same place on each gel torso creating effectively brutal as well as methodical kills.

Phoenix: Edge, HK23.

Narrator: John Connor gets the Edge with his HK23.

Team Blade is not shaken as they introduce a customized Mac 11.

Horatio: This here is the Mac 11 used by Blade. It has a 25 round capacity.....normally. This custom version holds 35 rounds and fires 45 caliber rounds as opposed to the usual 9mm.

Andrea: This is the HK416 and looks to be more of an assault rifle that a machine pistol. It has a 20 round magazine and uses a standard 5.56 caliber round.

Andrea takes aim with the HK416 and waits as she is given the signal. Hearing it, she opens fire on 2 gel torsos. The rifle rounds pierce and inflict massive amounts of damage onto the torsos as they hit. The effects of the damage are rather easy to see as she accurately puts each round where it needs to go.

Nissan: Just look at the intensity we have here. This is almost unparalleled by anything else so far this episode. These are accurate shots, they really really are. This one penetrates the aorta, this one here easily penetrates the heart. We've got a vast assortment of different kills here on one target because of the accuracy that has been demonstrated.

Phoenix: I realize that with the enemies they face on a regular basis, accuracy is almost required just to survive.

Horatio lines himself up as he loads a clip into the Mac 11. Getting the signal, he opens fire using just his right hand. The recoil is noticeable in him as he attempts to control it but fails miserably. The bullets don't really hit the target and Phoenix gives it a try onehanded. Cocking the gun, he opens fire and because of his strength and reflexes, is able to control the recoil and delivers the lethal payload into the gel torso.

Nissan: Well, if you're a human or a regular anthro or person, you may want to fire it with both hands. Although I am certain Blade could fire it singlehandedly.

Horatio: A lot of people have seen him do so and we even have a recording of him engaging vampires while firing it singlehandedly.

Phoenix: Well, unless you got the physical strength to control the recoil(which is far more than a normal person can generate), you'd be better off using two hands as it is going to be extremely inaccurate as you demonstrated. However, with the proper strength, you could use it quite well but it is still far below what the HK416 has in terms of accuracy much less stopping power.

Nissan: Edge, HK416.

Narrator: John Connor gets the Edge with his HK416.

Again, Blade's team is not shaken and move on up the weapons list, introducing the custom shotgun used by Blade.

Nate: This is the Shotgun used by Blade, it is a customized version of the Benelli M3 Super 90 and can fire traditional shotgun rounds such as slugs or buckshot or silver stakes. Like any shotgun, it is a high capacity combat weapon solely designed for eliminating large groups of enemies in close quarters combat.

Kyle: This is the M4A1 Carbine M26 and as you can clearly see, it has the M26 shotgun attachment. The shotgun holds 5 rounds in the magazine here while you've got the 30 round magazine on the M4.

Phoenix: I see this as a stupid test. Here we have a shotgun, albeit customized that fires 1 of three types of rounds and holds between 8 and 12 shots depending on the round and here we have a shotgun with 5 rounds attached to an assault rifle that has /30/ rounds. Assault rifle is more accurate, has way more ammo in it then that shotgun and the alternate fire for close quarters is a shotgun. Tell me......how does another shotgun compare to this?

Ivana: It doesn't all that well. Basically it's like comparing a 9mm handgun to a 50 caliber handgun.

Phoenix: Eh.....not that far apart, but maybe a 9mm to a .357. That's still......you know.....damn!!

Nissan: Edge, M4A1 Carbine M26.

Narrator: John Connor gets the Edge with his M4A1 Carbine M26.

Not taking the blow to the heart, team Blade brings out their final weapon, the PSG-1 Sniper Rifle.

Horatio: This here is the....

Phoenix: You going to not shoot like a dumbass this time?

Horatio: This is the PSG-1 and it is a fully automatic sniper rifle and can be fired at full auto or semi auto, basically the user's choice. As you both know, it has quite an impressive range and can be used with pinpoint precision.

Andrea: This is the M203 Grenade Launcher and is a very powerful and extremely effective weapon. It is used with great extent to completely annihilate anyone that poses any real sort of a threat to you and can be used with some distance.

Phoenix: Not that I want to rain on your parade, but the M203 lobs grenades which explode. That is effective, don't get me wrong. But, you're lucky if you can shoot half the distance of the PSG-1. You're lucky if you can shoot a third with any accuracy. The PSG-1 has an effective range in the hundreds of yards. The M203......maybe a few hundred yards max.

Nissan: He's got a point, weapons are his specialty.

Andrea: I'm aware.

Narrator: Blade gets the Edge with his PSG-1.

With the tests finished, it is time to briefly review the two warriors.

Phoenix: From here on out, instead of reviewing the weapons, we'll review the warriors. John Connor grew up being trained and implanted with the belief he'd one day help the human race achieve ultimate victory over machines. He's battled hardened cyborgs with only one thing in mind, to kill anything that lives. Blade is a vampiric vampire hunter, which in itself is a bit of an oxymoron, but whatever. He has none of the weaknesses such as sunlight, silver, garlic and what have you. He doesn't necessarily need food but he does have the thirst and requires blood but keeps it satiated with his serum. Of the two x-factors, I believe they are equal and it will come down to who is the better soldier.

Ivana: I've input the data and now it is time to see which of these two will win the ultimate fight, a duel to the death. With the information on them as well as the 5 weapons each will be bringing into the battle, I have set up the simulation to run a 1000 battles to prevent a single lucky shot or blow from claiming absolute victory.

Narrator: WHO.....WILL......WIN!?

Leader of the human resistance against the machines....

John Connor is seen leading an attack group into a terminator infested compound.

Or the vampiric vampire hunter....

Blade is seen engaging in fierce combat with vampires and familiars.

Killer of terminators.....

John Connor kicks a terminator aside and blows it's head off with several shotgun blasts.

Or an expert of martial arts....

Blade dodges a kick and cuts through a vampire with the greatest ease.

WHO......IS.......DEADLIEST!?

Blade hears and feels an explosion rock the area as he exits the warehouse he was currently residing in. His hunts have since brought him here and looking out just over a grassy hill, he sees smoke and knows something just went down. He quickly runs back inside to grab his weapons and his gear so he can see what is going on.

John Connor takes notice of the building and makes his way there to briefly seek shelter. Having been fighting machines his whole life, he now had something new to worry about. He had just rigged a carbomb to take out a bunch of bandits trying to kill him. With nighttime fast approaching, he didn't have a whole lot of choices when it came to shelter.

Blade looks out a window and sees the well armed man approaching and grabs his PSG-1 with the intent of determining whether or not this person was a foe, perhaps a familiar even. John Connor takes a knee and scans the entire warehouse when something catches his eye, movement on a catwalk/railing circling the building.

Taking aim, Blade sees the man approach faster and break into a run. Realizing he has been spotted, he opens fire. Connor barely dodges the rifle fire and returns fire with his M4A1 Carbine M26. Firing the M4's rounds, he sees the figure fall back and drop the rifle as he quickly enters the warehouse.

Blade growls as he feels his leg injury and quickly heads down below. Grabbing his Benelli from a nearby rack, he hears footsteps and turns as Connor opens fire with the M4 once again. Ducking and rolling to the side, Blade loads a few stakes into the shotgun to give himself a more accurate shot and some distance.

Connor takes a knee as he pulls out his M203 and loads a grenade into it. As he finishes loading his weapon, he is knocked to the ground and feels intense pain. Looking at his shoulder, he sees the silver stake. He fires the M203 towards the ceiling as Blade had just come out into the open.

Blade ducks and rolls as the grenade explodes. He leaps back out and cocks the shotgun but sees nobody, just the grenade launcher. Pulling out his Katana, he approaches quickly and cautiously when he hears the drip drip dripping of blood and turns too late as he is knocked to the ground by 3 shotgun blasts.

Connor fires twice more as Blade quickly rolls out of the way and draws his customized Mac-11, opening fire and disabling the M4 with several well placed shots. Connor discards the weapon and runs off.

Blade pursues Connor and notices a fire axe missing from a nearby case when he knew it had been full a minute ago. Glancing around, he hears something behind him and fires as he gets knocked to the ground. Connor took several shots in the upper shoulder as he tackled Blade to the ground.

Kicking the man off, Blade grabs his Katana and dodges an axe swing while trying to get up and/or trip this man. Connor is relentless, letting the axe do his work as he keeps just out of Blade's reach.

Using his Katana, Blade parries the axe and lops the head off and is then stabbed in the side and kicked back. Letting loose a cry of pain, he grabs his Mac 11 and fires at the fleeing man as he bolts out the door.

Standing up, he pulls the piece of wood out and grabs his USP Match and pursues him once again. Picking up his PSG-1 outside, he carefully walks up towards the hill when something tells him the man hasn't left. Turning around, he is sent flying back down the hill he had just climbed as a grenade had just landed beside him. Covered in some burns and nicks and scratches, he sees the man up above where he had been.

Taking aim with his PSG-1, two gunshots ring out and Connor is seen falling over the edge of the railing to the ground below. Blade drops to his knees as a bullet hole is seen in his forehead before he slumps over face first to the ground.

John Connor 0
Blade 0

Narrator: This was an extremely tough call as both warriors were well trained, but Blade had healing abilities. Unfortunately those abilities only did so much as he was indeed mortal and could be killed by standard weapons if enough damage was done quickly enough. Connor had the training and combat skills to easily cause enough damage and as such, proved an equal match for the vampire.

John Connor: 500
Fire Axe: 19
HK23: 52
HK416: 178
M4A1 Carbine M26: 170
M203 Grenade Launcher: 81

Blade: 500
Katana: 97
USP Match: 57
Mac 11: 151
Benelli M3 Super 90: 58
PSG-1: 137

Phoenix: Blade's kills were more evenly spread out, though his rapid fire Mac 11 and his long ranged PSG-1 acquired most of his kills with him doing fairly well with his Katana. For John it was his assault rifles and the grenade launcher that gave him the most kills, enabling him to cause the fatal amount of damage quick enough rather then trying to hack out a chunk with the axe.

Ivana: None of the experts are happy as they feel a tie is worse then a win or a loss, so they refuse to comment as they believed that their warrior was the absolute best. Well.....when the finale comes, there is a loss that can occur that will be quite hard for myself and Nissan to bare not to mention Phoenix.
Season 2 Episode 19, John Connor vs Blade. A fun fight and I may get some comments because of Blade's death. Hello, earth to readers.....he is mortal just like everybody else. If he takes enough damage, it will kill him.....plain and simple. And for true shooters, it's not going to be that hard.
